Eat Wild: Fresh, Diverse, and Sustainable Food

About this event

Did you know that there exist approximately 75,000 edible plant species in the world? But only 30 species produce 95% of the food we eat! This means that the vast majority of edible plants are drastically underutilized. And a surprising number of these species live right in your own backyard—even in urban environments! Join Maria Wesserle of Four Season Foraging to learn some foraging basics and discover common wild edible plants.

This event is being held at Como Park Picnic Area northwest of Estabrook Drive & Midway Parkway in Saint Paul.

After the meeting we will socialize at Gabe's by the Park.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Maria started gathering wild edibles in 2004 and has spent over 10 years leading nature programs in the Upper Midwest. In 2017, Maria founded Four Season Foraging to offer foraging workshops in the Twin Cities area, creating a space where people can learn to interact with urban and rural wild places in meaningful and sustainable ways.

REGISTRATION

This event is being held in partnership with the Minnesota Rovers. It is free and open to the public. You can register on Meetup, but it’s not required.
