About This Event
If you’re a forager who would like to hone your plant identification skills, then this workshop is for you! Join Maria Wesserle of Four Season Foraging as we learn how to identify wild edible plants of summer. We will talk some about plant uses, but the focus of this class is to gain a deeper understanding of plant identification. Much of the time will be spent observing, sketching, and journaling about plants. Suggested age 16 and up (those under 18 should be accompanied by an adult.)
This workshop is part of a three part series. You can take as many (or as few) of the classes as you would like. The first session will focus on leaves, the second session will focus on flowers, and the third session will focus on plant families.
Meet at the corner of the Midtown Greenway (north of Lagoon Ave.) and James Ave S. (See map here.) There will be a sign that reads “Four Season Foraging.”
Accessibility: This event will be held on mostly even ground with short grass, as well as on a paved trail. Total distance traveled will be around a half mile.
Sliding scale $17.50 - $37.50.
For more details, please email info@fourseasonforaging.com or call 612-440-5958.
*Please note: this class will follow the same basic structure as the one held in spring. If you attended the spring session, you are welcome to attend this one, but be aware that we will be covering much of the same information! There will be some new plants to observe though, as well as old plants at different stages of growth!
